Sinulog 2012 Photo Diary

This year for Sinulog, I was only able to attend the novena masses and the solemn procession. Obviously there’s no photos of the grand parade because I just watched it on TV. I was cozily nestled at home while everyone partied their heart out on the streets. Hopefully I’ll be able to go out and party next year. I feel like this year, I want to take the religious side of the festival more seriously. The Sinulog Festival always makes me so proud to be Cebuano. Can’t wait for next year. Pit Senyor!

Design Fusion and Visions & Trends Spring/Summer 2012

These are some of my favorites from the Design Fusion and Vision & Trends shows from Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012. It’s a little collage of some sorts of my 3 favorite looks from each designer.

BO PARCON

Fact, the little details dangling on the model’s arms and dresses along side the fringes are actually rosary beads and a whole bunch of crucifixes. I’ll just leave it at that.

DAX BAYANI

This collection was made with eco-friendly material, raw textiles and natural fabrics which were chemically untreated. I just wish the designs were as innovative as the material used.

DIMPLE LIM

One thing that comes to mind from Lim’s collection was texture. I love the neutral colors and how well this was put together.

JAKI PEÑALOSA

Peñalosa made use of hand woven abaca for this collection which she beautifully integrated with her design by creating patterns from it. It’s very Filipino without making it too cheesy.

JOT LOSA

This is really showed off great dressmaking from Losa. Real talent really resonates despite doing the entire collection in one amazingly beautiful color. Red is the new Black! Whatever that means.

XERNAN OTRICIO

Xernan Orticio’s Japanese inspired collection was structured, precise beautifully tailored. It was one of the most exciting collections to watch. 10 pieces were not enough. I’m really looking forward to see more of his work next season.

ENRICO CARADO

I’m sorry but the Jojo Comendador shoes really stole this show. The shoes really made the collection, as it went very well this Carado’s bondage inspired dresses.

JOSHUA GUIBONE

This was a very sleek and a very sexy collection. The oriental touches added the extra flair without making it too obvious and cheesy.

REGINE DULAY

I really like the deconstructed, unfinished and unconventional silhouettes. It’s edgy and it’s definitely thinking-outside-of-the-box done well.

Bruno Mars Live in Cebu

As you all may know, my brother and I got tickets to see Bruno Mars Live in concert here in Cebu. And to say that we had a blast was definitely an understatement. He had a killer set list and I absolutely love the arrangements on the songs. And most importantly, he sounds amazing live. And just like any newbie concert goer, I tried my best to record some of my favorite parts, like the song Count on Me as shown above. My camera wasn’t allowed in the venue, hence the low quality ipod touch video. We only had “standing only” tickets so my feet was so sore after. But seeing him perform live in the flesh, in all his musical glory, definitely made it all worth it.

The Ubec Crew

These are photos I took of the graffiti created on a abandoned house by the Ubec Crew while I was in Bantayan Island. Although this one is very different with what they usually do. Because their work is usually filled with amazing colors. But nonetheless, it’s still very good. It’s really nice to see their art spread all over the province. Amazing local artists like them make me really proud to be from Cebu. Click here to see more of their work.
