I’m extremely thankful that Nicky Roa created an illustrated portrait of me. Not only is he a designer and stylist, but he’s also an amazing Fashion Illustrator. He’s been telling me about this since last year because this was supposed to be his Christmas gift for me but we never got to see each other. But now, I’m so glad that he took photos of it so I can finally see how it looks like.

Isn’t it amazing? I really love what he did with the illustration, especially his detail on the eyes. But what’s more amazing about this is that this was done by hand. I can’t wait to finally receive the real thing and displaying it in my room. Also, Nicky is now blogging here on tumblr. “Ryann Reyes came over and shot me—point blank.” said Nicky Roa as I did a portrait series for and him with his amazing new bleached hair. This time, it was me who asked him this favor. And I’m glad he didn’t say no. I’ve always wanted to photograph him ever since I got to know him, I’m glad it finally came true. I wanted the photos to be clean but still has a gritty personality to it. As Nicky described the shoot in his blog, saying “We shot at my place, with only the natural light from my windows as our lighting. I wore my own clothes (or not much of em) and went on from there. Posing was easy. I do it all the time on shoots - Behind the camera. But it’s my turn now!” And when his turn came, he did not disappoint. Now he can rightfully add Model to his resume, along side Designer and Stylist.
