RYANN REYES

When They Said, “I Do”

I recently went to Manila to attend my cousin’s wedding. It was a very quaint family affair. As always, I was very emotional all through out the event. I love weddings. I really do. I felt so blessed and honored to witness the most important day of my cousin’s life. I’m very happy for the newlyweds and I wish them a happy and prosperous marriage. And just so we’re clear, I wasn’t the “official photographer” of my cousin’s wedding. I’d like to think of this as my wedding gift to her. I might get some of these framed soon. Here are some of my favorite photos from the wedding up to the wedding reception.

Merry Christmas!

It’s that time of the year again. And I’m so happy that I’m spending Christmas with my beautiful and loving family. Being with them after an entire month of work is the best feeling in the world. Also, since I’m in the Christmas mood, I made the photos look like Christmas Cards. I wish I could print this out and send it to all my relatives and friends. Anyway, I reflected on a lot of things today especially with my daily bout on materialism. It’s really not about what you get, but it’s about who you’re with on Christmas.

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

High Tide

Yesterday, the tide was high and the sun was out. So what better way to celebrate father’s day with the entire family than to spend it at the beach. We decided to stay at the beautiful Crimson Beach Resort & Spa. It was really beautiful there. It made bonding with the family a lot more relaxing.

Wander Boy

The entire Reyes family went to Cebu’s Mid-West to enjoy some much needed R&R. My favorite part of the two-day vacation was lounging at a secluded beach on a gloomy Saturday afternoon.

Raphael Andrew

This is a portrait I did of my younger brother, Raphael Andrew. Tomorrow will be his first day in college. He will be studying Hotel and Restaurant Management at the same university I went to. I can still vividly remember the time when he was so excited to go to pre-school. Oh how time flies.

Dad’s Coach Billfold

My dad finally gave me his old brown Water Buffalo Double Billfold Passcase Id Wallet from Coach that he got from a friend in New York. It’s a hand-me-down that I would happily accept.

Ellene’s Grace

My lovely cousin Ellene Grace from Bacolod City came to visit us here in Cebu for a connecting flight to New York City. What I like about her is that she’s already a very accomplished swimmer with a Gold Medal for the National Palarong Pambansa 50m Breast Stroke back in 2010 and a Bronze Medal for the 100m Breast Stroke this year. She’s also a very bemedalled swimmer in various local and regional swimming competitions. Hence, the sexy tan she’s sporting right now. And on top of that she still manages to ace her classes. Plus she’s very pretty, inside and out. Since I don’t get to see her that often, I took this opportunity to shoot portraits of her. She’s probably in New York right now. I can’t wait to see her again.

In Mint Condition

I had a wonderful time doing this with my cousin/my now on-the-spot model. This was all done for fun. You know, nothing serious. No complex theme or narrative. Just me and my cousin doing what we love to do. Consider this our unusual bonding activity. And before anyone points it out, this was a bit inspired from this. Also, I’m really starting to dig the color Mint Green.

Family Affair

I love family reunions. I get to spend time laughing my butt off with my cousins, exchange funny stories with my uncles and aunts, and have photos ops with the entire family.

I hope Terry Richardson won’t mind us doing his signature pose.

Transcendence

While I was browsing at all the old photo albums from my aunts house, I found my way into her old college photos. I was surprised to know that she used to model back in the day. It’s a shame that only a really few photos survived. I really loved how people dressed up during the 70’s. I absolutely adore her high waisted full skirt, and the prints and colors on it as well. I’ve always known that she had amazing style, but I didn’t expect it to go way back. It only goes to show that impeccable style transcends time.
