What is your full name?
It’s Ray Anthony Reyes. But my friends and family call me Ryann. Yes, it comes with an extra N.
But what do you really do?
I’m a Nurse on the weekdays and a Graduate Student in the weekends. I go home to the internet 24/7, and I am photography hobbyist/blogger all year round.
Where are you from?
The Philippines. I was born in Bacolod City but I grew up in Cebu. But I won’t be staying here for long.
What is this blog all about?
The things I post is more of an emotional response to what I’m currently going through. A little photo blog for myself, if you will. This blog has documented the highs and lows of my life since 2006.
Why did you set up this blog?
Before I had this blog, I had a blog from blogger that I set up last 2006. The sole purpose of that blog was to amaturely document my college life. And then at 2009, I discovered Tumblr. It was love at first sight. I immediately imported all my blogger posts in here, hence the crappy posts from the yesteryears if you back-read this blog. I was very overwhelmed with all the artwork and photos I’ve seen in here. And that also started to inspire me to do photography and to learn more about fashion, art and music. It still continues to inspire me today.
How’d you get into Photography?
I’ve always been fascinated with taking photos ever since my dad taught me how to use the old film cameras from the 90’s. The moment I figured out how to roll the film after taking photos, I was hooked. I’ve always been taking photos all my life. But I only started to really get into photography when my parents gave me my first every DSLR camera for my 20th birthday. And the rest, is history.
What do you use in taking photos?
I only have a Canon EOS 1000D with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens that never leaves my camera. And I often use my old Canon EF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS Lens. I use Lightroom to do very little post-processing. You know, nothing fancy.
What inspires you?
I think it doesn’t quite show in my photos yet, but the thing that inspires me the most is the crazy and beautiful world of fashion. I try to really immerse myself with all the magazine editorials, runway shows, ad campaigns and the models. I also get very inspired with music, art and pop culture. There’s always something about all the things I mentioned that has a very clear connection with photography. That’s why I always have this drive to take pictures because I am constantly inspired by all of these.
Why do you wear glasses?
That’s because I’m myopic.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Exactly at the other side of the world, from where I am today.
